Franz Liszt came to Styria from Vienna, where he stayed between March and September 1846, at the invitation of Eduard Lannoy, the owner of the Viltuš manor. Liszt had a concert in the Knight's Hall of the Maribor Castle on June 16, 1846 at 7 p.m. It was hosted by the then owner of the castle, Count Heinrich Adamu Brandis, who was also the director of the Maribor Musikverein. At the Maribor concert he played his works, the works of Schubert, Chopin and Weber.
