The exhibition Portrait of the Bourgeoisie highlights the cultural life of Maribor in the 19th century. On the one hand, it highlights the vibrant social life dictated by numerous societies in the 19th century, and on the other hand, it reflects the social changes of the 19th century, which are visible in urban planning, music, national awakening and divergence, care for the language and for the cultural heritage of the region.
