Chimney, ethnological collection, Maribor Provincial Museum.

The chimney was usually a single-celled building. In the main living area, a stove with a heating opening and a fireplace standing in front of the said opening were installed. In the same room, the family often lived together with smaller livestock (chickens, pigs), and for certain tasks they also brought larger livestock to the chimney (eg cows at milking). In addition, various household crafts were performed in the chimney, exclusively for domestic needs.
